One mutation, extra traits
Community references say a Brainrot has one mutation and may have several traits. Gold, Diamond, and Rainbow are the carpet mutations with the most agreement:
| Mutation | Reported factor | Reported carpet note |
|---|---|---|
| Default | 1x | Original look |
| Gold | 1.25x | About 10 percent of Red Carpet spawns; in game since 31 May 2025 |
| Diamond | 1.5x | About 5 percent of Red Carpet spawns; same date |
| Rainbow | 10x | About 1 percent, higher during a Rainbow Machine event; in game since 21 June 2025 |
Lava is widely reported at 6x during Molten events. Bloodrot at 2x, Candy at 4x, and an older Celestial figure of 4x are described as event or admin routes. A later capture claimed much higher Celestial and Crystal factors, including a future-dated release note. Those higher figures are not treated as current here. Galaxy has been written as 6x, or 7x while its event runs. Divine is described as sharing Rainbow's 10x value. Eclipse was officially named in the October 3-7, 2026 event and no income factor was published.
A worked Gold example is arithmetic only: 100 per second times 1.25 is 125 per second before traits, rebirth, or rounding.
Traits are a separate argument
Published trait examples include Strawberry, Meowl, Nyan Cat, Firework, Taco, John Pork, and Fire. Strawberry is reported at 8x in a March 2026 guide and an October 2026 wiki body, and at 9x in an earlier snapshot. Meowl has the same 7x versus 8x split. Nyan Cat and Firework are often listed at 6x, Taco at 3x, and John Pork at 6.5x. Fire is the awkward case: one worked example treats a 5x contribution as a 6x standalone result.
Sleep is described as reducing output, with 0.5x and 0.6x both printed on one page. A visual effect is not automatically a bonus.
Do not chain every number
One wiki formula adds trait contributions to the mutation factor. Another multiplies standalone totals, and a March 2026 example multiplies Strawberry, Nyan, and Rainbow into 560x. Those conventions cannot be stacked into one calculator. This site's mutation tool only estimates an independent mutation chance. It is not a trait formula.
For a real choice, record the full name, the mutation, every trait label, and the displayed cash per second of each copy. The difference between those two displayed rates is the income gain.
Index and base skins
A mutation overview says collecting about 75 percent of obtainable Brainrots in one mutation can unlock a base skin. A more detailed index note separates permanent targets from seasonal ones. Open the in-game index for the variant you are collecting instead of assuming one percentage covers every skin.
